Taking a Survey

I got to thinking that as a person who hasn't taken her child to a church nursery in over 20 years, maybe what I think is crucial isn't to everyone else. So...I'm taking a survey. Leave me a comment with the top three or four things you look for when visiting a church nursery, you know, the things that are non-negotiable. Thanks for your help in this unscientific survey. Just want to always be on the right track. :)

Okay, I will jump in! For me a serious non-negotiable is knowing there are enough adults there to handle the number of kids (and friendliness from the workers). I also feel better if I know there is a pager system. Also, I think it is very important for my children to WANT to go to church. I don't like dragging reluctant children out the door because I feel like if it is this way now, it is going to be much worse during the teenage years. I love it when my kids would come home excited about something they learned. And I feel better if things look clean (doesn't have to be perfect--but just a general cleanliness). Okay--that is what I can thing of off the top of my head!

Well, I think Jen covered it very well. My biggie is also enough workers - and friendly ones that at least pretend they 'want' to take my kid! :-) A somewhat structured environment - whether its guided play, a lesson, whatever - just a point to being there other than babysitting. And, I also appreciate some way to be notified if I'm needed.
